Update!

I am feeling MUCH better today! YAAAAA!!! I was able to go to the gym and do the bike at a level 3 for 1 hour and go for 14.6 miles. Then I worked a little upper body and a little lower body. I finished by running 1 mile in 8:34!!! That's my record for 1 mile!!! I set a goal to run the entire mile at a 7.0 speed. I even was able to bump it to 7.5 for about 2 minutes!

Yesterday I ran a 5K on my treadmill to get myself going again. It was kind of hard since I haven't been feeling well this week.

YUCKY!!!

I woke up this morning just feeling super yucky!! I'm glad it hit me this week instead of next week, though. We fly out to Utah next Monday night and I don't want to be sick on my visit. I have already had 7 points today and it is only 10:45am!!! I'm not sure if I am going to work out or not. My legs feel fine but my chest is congested. I might just walk for a bit.

YAAAA and OUCH!!!!

Today my DH (dear husband) and I went on our long run around Lake Hefner. The goal was to try to get around it once without stopping to walk. WE DID IT!!!! We ran for 9 miles outside in the heat, wind, and little hills!!!! I am sooo amazed that I was able to do it. My new Garmin watch totally helped because I was able to see how far I've come and how far I had left to go. I work really well with challenging myself and I really need to see where I am at. That makes a HUGE difference!!!

I was doing AWESOME on the run but at about mile 8 I noticed that I had this terrible BURN under my arm. The skin had all been rubbed away and it was chafing!!! OUCH!! It still hurts terrible!!! I guess next time I will prepare better for that by using the special glide sticks that they sell!!!



Here are my stats for the day.....

Ran for 9 miles

Time: 1 hour and 35 minutes!!!! ( a new record for me!)

Calories burned: 1380!!!!

The best part about today's run was that at around mile 7 I got this tingly feeling in my body and felt that I could do anything!! I got this at around mile 8, too! I told my husband that it was my body saying to me "I LOVE THIS!!!!" He said that it was my body's way of telling me that it was time to go home. LOL!! It was a hot day but it really wasn't that hard on me today.

My new favorite gadget!!!


Yesterday my new non-craft related gadget came in the mail. It is the Garmin 201 GPS watch. I was going to get a higher model but after doing much research I found that the $129 Garmin was best suited for me and my purpose. It is SOOOO awesome!! We used it on our long run today and it showed the pace I was running, the time, the distance and I also was able to see how many calories I burned!! There are bunch of other cool buttons on there, too, but not sure what they are for. So, if you are in need of a good running watch........ I highly recommend the Garmin 201!!!

I think I'm crazy!!

Okay, so I didn't even work out yesterday because I had my WW meeting in the morning then we had a pool play date at my house and we had over 25 kids here swimming and lots of moms, too. It was a VERY busy day!!! Oh ya, I lost another .4 pounds. I know it is small but it all adds up. I'd rather lose almost 1/2 of a pound than gain .2 of a pound!!!

Today I got up, did some chores, and decided to take my youngest little boys to the gym to play in the kids area while I worked out. my goal today was to run on the treadmill for 1 hour non stop at a 5 pace. I was trying for endurance today and not speed. I only lasted for 2 minutes at a 5 before I bumped it up to 6.5, then 6.0, then 7.0, and back down. You are going to freak when I tell you how many miles I RAN today!!! Okay, are you ready????? I ran for 9 miles straight without stopping!!!!! It took me 97 minutes!!! I just kept going and going!!! I am wiped out tonight but I am happy to see that I could do it. Maybe a marathon is not that far in the future for me.

I have to say this....... While I am running I don't love it but when I am done I do! I never knew that I had this in me and I am amazed every day! My body is really slimming from running. I can eat more normal, too, now that I am working out for at least an hour a day. I still try to stay within my point range, though. :)

I hope you are all having a fantastic week!! My DH and I are going to try to run around Lake Hefner again this Saturday. Wish us luck. The goal is to make it around the entire lake without stopping. :)

A running date!!

Tonight (Friday) my husband and I decided to make our date a running date.  We drove out to Lake Hefner and tried to run around it.  It is 9.4 miles around the lake!!!  We ran about the first 4 miles of it and then walked for about 2 then ran for around 2 and walked the last mile.  It seemed like SOOOOOO long of a trail.  I don't know how marathon runners do it.  It was very beautiful, though, and I did get some quality time with my husband.  We are going to try it again this Saturday to see if we can run a bit further.  Wish us luck!!  I think we must be crazy!

Weight Watchers

Well, it was kind of lonely without Karlee there but I still was able to speak up and be myself.  I even demonstrated the plank for the entire group of women and men!!!  I was excited to have lost another .2 pounds!  I thought for sure I had gained at least 1 pound.

Wednesday's workout was one hour on the treadmill with walking and running.  4.37 miles.

Tuesday Check In

I'm doing a lot better today, so far.  I went to the gym this morning and did the bike for 1 hour and 13 miles!  Then I worked upper body, did about 8 minutes on the treadmill, and worked my abs.  It was a pretty good workout.

So far I've eaten....

Oatmeal (2 points)
Banana (1 point)
Fiber One bar (2 points)

For lunch I am going to have....

A large salad (1 point for the dressing)
Ham sandwich (3 points)
Apple (1-2 points)

For my snack I am going to make some popcorn

Dinner I will eat with my family but make sure I have lots of vegetables and eat a small portion of what they are having.

I earned around 5 activity points today!  Yaaaa!!  That means I can eat more!

Kind of sad & a 5K

Today my BFF Karlee moved away so I was really sad.  I tried to stick to my WW plan but just needed some extra munchies to make it through the day.  I don't know how I'm going to do it.  Karlee is my WW buddy and we go together to the meetings every Wednesday, then get Subway afterwards, and usually find something to do together with our kids.  It is going to be a lonely meeting.  Anyway, I got on the treadmill today and ran a 5 K in 29:28.  My record is 29 minutes even but I was pretty close to that.  I am noticing that I am getting really competitive with myself.  It's weird because I have never thought that I was athletic and now I am starting to feel like I am.

I ran a 10 K on my treadmill!!!!

I was going to try to do a long run today of 5 miles.  I wasn't in the mood at all and had been putting it off until after lunch time.  Well, I got on that treadmill, made it to the 5 K mark, then the 4 mile mark.  When I got to the 5 mile mark I called my DH in the workout room and asked him if he thought I should just go for it.  He told me yes.  So I did!!!  I finished the 6.2 miles in 63:4o!!!!  I have done one other 10K on my treadmill and I finished that in 67 minutes.  I was in total shock that I did it!!  Maybe I will be able to run a marathon next year after all.  I just can't imagine it now but it just takes baby steps.  :)

It's Official!!!

I am in the 120's!!!!  I feel like this is the hardest I have worked for weight loss in the past 5 months!!!  It has taken me 2-3 months to arrive in the 120's!!!!  I lost 1 entire pound this week and I ate out twice, had dessert 3 times, but I did work my hiney off in the gym!!!  I am sooo super excited!!!  Here is the exercise I have done this week so far....

Saturday - Met a friend at the gym.  Walked/ran 3.5 miles, worked upper body.
Sunday - Rest
Monday - Walked/ran 4.75 miles (1 hour), swam for 20 minutes (laps), worked upper body.
Tuesday - Ran for 1 mile (9:38 minutes), walked ran for another mile, Biked for 1 hour (13 miles!!), a little upper body (bench pressed 55 pounds 3 sets of 10)
Wednesday - Not much yet but I plan on walking/running for 1 mile.  Trying to let my legs rest today.
