Monday's Update

This morning I woke up with a cough and was totally congested. My alarm went off at 5:30 and I had a decision to make. Was I going to sleep for another hour and a half and hopefully feel better or was I going to just get up and workout anyway. I chose to just get up and work out. Even though I was hacking a little on the treadmill, it felt really good to work out my body after taking a Sabbath break yesterday. Here is what I have done today.....

*I actually ran/walked for 2 miles today!!!! That is my goal for this week and I am excited that I did it on the first day. I have decided that I am not going to run for big stretches anymore. My right shin is really acting up and I don't want it to get any worse. I am walking for 2 minutes and then running for 2 minutes at 6.0. Towards the end I just walked at an incline. I was sweating up a storm and burned 250 calories during the 27 minutes I was on there.

*At the gym today I worked my upper body. I am getting a little bit stronger and able to use heavier weights now. I really am feeling the difference.

Saturday when I was at the gym running on their treadmill my size large workout pants started falling off. Hmmmm, I guess that is a good sign, huh?? Yesterday I was able to zip up one of my church dresses without sucking in or without the help of my husband. That is a big accomplishment, too!!!

I'm happy to lose my weight slow and steady as long as it continues to come off. :)

  6. Oh Robyn,
Has it been a year, maybe more since you started the Cricut Sisters weight loss blog? We really tried back then, didn't we? But it sounds now like you are having wonderful success.
You have really got me thinking...I will have to pop you an email when I get a chance...too much to say here. Thank you Robyn.

  9. That is so terrific, Robyn. I am from the Cricut message board, and just surfed in to this blog. I too am on a weight loss regime. Usually I do the yo-yo thing, and am up and down with weight, because I just do the diet thing, but no exercise. This time, I am watching what I eat - no real, rigid "atkins" diet, or any other diet...just being concious of what I put in my mouth, but am doing my workout routine. Let's see if that works better for me! I've lost 3 pounds, and haven't been on it for too long! I walk a mile on a "real" walk, then 20 min on a treadmill, and do the workout machines that are offered at my apartment complex. I am sore, but feel like I am getting my stamina, ad it's a good sore feeling! Keep up your good work! I have much more to lose than you do, but I have a good mind-set right now!
