The Journey

Hi everyone!

I haven't updated in about a week or so because simply, I was just not in the mood. Life seems to have been busy and the kids also had 3 days off last week due to an ice storm. That kind of slowed things down a bit.

I just wanted to take a minute to blog about my journey. I know that this all started because a friend and I wanted to do a Biggest Loser challenge but it has turned into so much more than that to me. Honestly, I didn't even want to start it in the beginning. I just didn't feel like exercising! Now that I have been doing it for an entire month today, I look forward to exercising every morning. I haven't skipped one day yet! I am going in to get weighed and measured in about an hour so we will see how that goes. I can tell that I am starting to change and others around me can see it, too. That is the most important thing. Pounds don't really matter. Plus, I am lifting weights 6 days a week, too, and really toning my body. I am soooo glad that I started this journey. I have an entire different outlook on my life and my children's lives. Things have really changed around here. For example, I am making them healthy snacks when they arrive home from school, and I am making a conscious effort to cook them healthy food for lunches and dinners.

This week I am doing 1.75 miles on the treadmill. Yesterday I ran for 16 minutes in a row of that. Today, I kind of sprinted for 1 minute increments. I felt like I got an equal workout for both.

We have on our calendar the 5K we are running. It is ............................ April 4th!! Wish me luck!!!!

  1. Congrats on the weight loss!! I am enjoying reading your journey. I am doing ww again for about the 10th time. I have about 35 lbs. to go. Just wondering if you have tried doing the couch to 5k program? Anyway, congrats on your success. Jeannette

No, I haven't tried that program but I think that is kind of what I am doing on my own. I am slowly building up. :)

  5. You sound like you are having a life style change, and that is what losing weight is all about. Too many people lose the weight and when they reach their goal they gain it back because they forgot to make eating better and exercising a real part of every day life. I lost my weight with ww and have kept it off going on 2 years. You sound like you are making wonderful changes for yourself and your family. Keep up the great work. You should be proud of yourself!
