Week 1 - Weigh In (Pink Loser Challenge)

Good morning Everyone!!

Are you ready to get this party started???  Let's start by having our first week weigh in.  Please leave a comment if you are participating on this post with how many pounds or percentage you want to lose!  Remember that this is a personal goal and please make it achievable.

Personal Goal:  Lose 23.8 pounds

Right now I am using Fitness Pal but might decide to do Weight Watchers again.  I will see how my week goes.  

Exercise:

I plan on getting on the bike or treadmill for 45 minutes today.  Good luck to me!

  2. I like Spark People. My goal is 1 lb a week until the middle of July. Exercise for today is snowshoeing for 30 minutes. My plan is to eat only whole foods and increase vegetables.

  3. Funny, I'm using My Fitness Pal too. They have an option to let friends join you so we should figure out how to do that so we can encourage each other to keep our food diary and such. I'm at 270.5 and my goal is 150. I've lost weight before and just put it back on. I have plantar facsitis(sp)so that limits some of my exercise, but I'm going to get it checked as well as going to the chiropractor to get adjusted. Have a gym membership and hope to do the eliptical for 30 min. tonight with a friend.

  4. Hello, I am so excited!!
    I have been doing ww.and need some motivation to continue..... in the next 3 months I would like to loose 25 pounds of the 40 total left to go. That's alomst 9 pounds a month. Well, here we go!!!!!! Best wishes everyone!! :)

  5. I signed up for My Fitness Pal, I just haven't done anything with it. Thought about weight watchers, not sure. I am starting at 180 and would like to lose 1-2 pounds a week. Today is the last day of Christmas break for my kids so we are being lazy today, but plan on hitting the treadmill first thing tomorrow morning. Good luck everyone, we can do this!!

  7. My goal is to lose 1-2pounds a week. I've been using Wonder Slim off and on since November and have slacked off tis past week. I'm ready to get back on track!

    2. It's like Medifast ( high protein, low carb,low fat meal replacements) but better tasting and less expensive.

  8. Ok ladies I have started my calorie count on my fitness pal today with a goal of 1200 calories. what is everyone else starting with? my plan is to do billy banks tebo its mt far for many years. And I am going to the local gym to join. I just had a baby so I am currently at 198 and am looking to get down to my prepregnancy weight of 150. I'm very excited to have a supportive group lord knows that I need that. Happy New Years ladies

  9. Hello Everyone,

    My Personal goal is to loss 15 pounds by early March then another 15 by late June.

    I am not sure of my exact weight right now - traveling - will weigh in on Friday when I am home. (bitting fingernails after the holidays and traveling - yikes) My goals might be going up. lol

    My goal is to utilize Your Shape on our Kinect at least 3 times a week and to stay within a normal calorie range.

  10. I'm starting at 212 and want to be under 200 by Valentine's day. So thats like 2 pounds a week. I'd like to lose more then that each week. Im using my Pal as well. Any Ideas on the best calorie burn exercises.

  11. I am starting at 290. I had a baby last year and gained about 20 pounds and just have not been able to get that weight off it seems like, but I got to start working and putting more effort into it.

    My realistic goal is to lose 50 pounds this year. Would love to lose more but I need to be realistic so I don't get discouraged.

    I would like to lose 25 by June and then 25 more by the end of the year.

    If my daughter will give me 30-45 minutes to exercise I want to do some Zumba that I have pinned or even my walking DVD. Another exercise goal is to walk when I get to work as I sometimes get to work 20-30 minutes early and I should use that time to walk around the building.

    I am using My Fitness Pal and really like it. I have done WW before so I incorporate some of that into what I eat also.

  12. Hello! I am joining WW tomorrow evening. I am at 195 (I didn't weigh this much pregnant). I had lost 50# on WW about 3 years ago but then had complications from a surgery and for about 2 weeks all I could keep down was milk shakes. That's all it took. All my healthy eating habits have been gone. My son practices hockey in an old fairgrounds coliseum 3x/week (only 2x this week though) so I am going to walk up and down all the steps eventually hoping to run them. My big downfall is eating after 8pm. Good luck ladies! Let's lose this JUNK!

  15. I'd like to lose at least 10 lbs by my birthday in March. And then I'll make my next goal. More water and some kind of activity 5-6 days a week. Next week take some classes or join the gym. Baby steps.

    I'm about the same as you! I am at 145.5 and want to get to 124 lbs. I will be keeping a close eye on you for motovation. I am cutting out only 4 things. #1 breads (flour), #2 all soda, #3 alcohol, #4 all sweets. Everything else is ok. Mary C.

  19. Starting out at 263. Which is just stupid! My goal is 145. This is the year to get healthy. Going to download my fitness pal and start walkin on the treadmill. I live at least 45 minutes from any place to go and workout. Just losing a pound or two a week, slow and steady.

  21. Starting at a solid 200 and looking to lose about 30 lbs.

    I follow the 17 day diet and lost 20 lbs already. After the holiday break I am ready for a fresh start.

    I exercise by dancing with my daughter about every other day...so fun and feels good.

  22. My start weight is 158.8 lbs, and I want my final weight to be 120 lbs. so I have 38.8 lbs. I have never been this heavy (without being pregnant). I am wanting to feel good, have energy to do everything I need to (without wishing for a nap), and get to where I like shopping for clothes. I know that I am done having kids...so that is no longer a factor. I want to get it off and keep it off...I don't have a deadline, but I don't want to waste time either. Exercise is not my problem. Mine is food....I stink at dieting. I don't want to diet...I need to make life changes. So I will probably have to find out what works best for me for the long term. I did a Zumba class at the gym today. Burned 512 calories. I do have a goal of burning 700-1200 calories a day. Once the kids are back in school...I'll do better at sticking with that.   23. My current weight is 223 and I would like to loose 1-2 pounds a week. I am currently using Loose It, but will take a look at Fitness Pal. I plan to exercise at least 4 times a week at home and try to take some walks at work. By the end of 2013 I would like to be down to 150.

  24. I used My Fitness Pal last year -- I tracked my food and started exercising 6-7 days/week and lost 26 lbs. Now it's time to ramp up the new year and go for another 10-15 lbs. I know we can do this ladies!!

  25. I have joined WW online, have high cholesterol and Need to lose a lot of unwanted me. Thank you for the motivation and support. I need to lose 100 lbs, but would love to lose 60 by 2014! We can do this! My trouble will be exercise, I am going to use my pedometer to encourage more activity!

  26. I want to lose 40 lbs by this time next year. I won't be skinny by any sense of the word but I will have a lot less to lug around. I'm counting calories on my fitness pal and limiting my sugar intake and quiting soda cold turkey...dreading the headache I will get. Have a great day!

  27. During the 1st 3 months I plan on losing 20-25 pounds. I use My Fitness Pal and a Fitbit and LOVE them both. I turned 40 in June and want to be a much more fit person before I turn 41!

  28. I am starting at 243. By the end of 2013, I would like to be in the 130s. I currently use Jillian Michales online program with my bodymedia fit device. I have a myfitnesspal account, but recently was given a membership to JM, which is very similar. I am currently in phase 2 of the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution program. As you can probably tell, I LOVE Jillian Michaels. My bodymedia device helps keep me on track (when I wear it). I also recently found a blog called Skinny Taste (you can google it or find her on pinterest). She has AWESOME low calorie recipies with the weight watchers points and nutritional information. I have made several of her recipies and love them all. Good luck everyone!!

  29. Hi! I currently weight 130 and I would like to lose 20 lbs. I am trying to lose about 1 lb a week for the next 3 months. I got a Wii fit for Christmas and I plan on using it 5 out of 7 days. I am also using My Fitness Pal. Let's hope for the best!

  32. I plan to lose 40 lbs. I'm with Weight Watchers360. I exercise with Leslie Sanson. And i got the zumba workout cds. I'm taking it 1 day at a time. Not going to stress myself out. I'm aiming low 2 lbs week, if i get more yaaah!

  33. I would LOVE to lose about 35-40 pounds. I have been very successful on WW in the past, however, I always seem to gain it back (and then some!) I am as heavy as I was at the end of my first pregnancy and I am REALLY unhappy with myself. :( I truly need to make some life changes, starting with adding exercise into my daily routine. I got a WII Fit Plus for Christmas and I hope that will help motivate me. I plan on using it once the kids go back to school on Monday. I also need to cut out sweets... and this will be HARD! I look forward to taking this challenge with you all. I am definitely ready for a NEW me!!

  34. Im currently at 188 and would like to lose 40 pouds total. Last time I did WW and I lost 26 pounds in 12 weeks with working out 45 mins 5 days a week. I know I can do it again its just hard to start but with the support we can do it. Thanks for all the support and cant wait to get started.

  35. I am currently using myfitnesspal, I have a goal losing 2 lbs per week, I currently weigh 202.3 lbs. I will walk at least 30 min 3x per week, and stationary bike 30min 2x per week. I don't drink much soda and I don't care for chocolate but I Love Bread !!! This will be hard work but I need to loose weight. I have MS and the weight gain is making it harder for everyday tasks. Hope everyone had a great New Years and is ready to loose some weight !! :-) good luck everyone!

  36. I am at 152.2 and would like to get down to135 pounds. I plan on using myfitnesspal. I am also going to do a cleanse starting on January 7th. I love food and crave all things sweet, salty etc. I am going to try to achieve a healthier lifestyle, so that I no longer have these cravings. I plan on giving up coffee as well :( Good luck everyone!

  39. I am at 151.9. I would love to lose 10 lbs and drop my percent body fat by 5%. I do WW although I am not starting until Monday. I am also planning on training for a sprint triathalon. This is a feat for me as I am not a runner or competitive swimmer. But that is why I am doing it, need to keep motivated!!! Thanks for the great motivation to stay on track.

  41. I have a lot of goals, but my short list is to go down 1 size by the time my son graduates from boot camp on the 18th of this month. I've been working on this since I got my treadmill for Christmas (Yay me!). I want to change my eating habits to "re-start" my body with some of Dr. Oz's easy fixes. I've done some of them before on my own without knowing that's what I was doing and it worked then. I don't know why I stopped. I don't know how much I weight exactly right now. I don't own a scale, but I will check when we go back to school on Friday. I use the good scale in the school clinic. I do know that's close to 250 lbs. By the end of this year, I want a 1 at the beginning of my weight. I don't care if it's 199. I just want that 1. After that, I'll set a new goal. I'll start using myfitnesspal again today. I've never done this with a "support group" before so maybe it'll work this time. :)

  42. OK I want to lose 10 pounds in the 3 months. I have lost 10 pounds but it took all year. I am at an age when losing weight becomes more difficult. I plan on adding exercise this time. I hope to exercise-walking, machines and hopefully a class, at least 3 times a week. It always seems something comes up -you know FAMILY- and I don't get to exercise as planned. This year I am going to try and make it my priority. Wish me luck. I have a lot to lose but figure 10 pounds is a good starting point.

  43. I'm at 180 right now, goal is 145. I'm using myfitnesspal and username is juleschattin on there. I'm starting at 1500 cal a day and as I get past the cravings ill move it down a little more, but I can't go under 1300 cal. I know I can't sustain that. :).

    Goal is to do an hour of exercise a day. Alternating with elliptical, treadmill, weights, swimming and Pilates.

  45. My first goal is to lose 10% of my weight, so a little over 20 lbs. The real initial goal is to eat better food and exercise to get my cholesterol levels in a more normal range in 3 months (so I don't have to go down the medication road).

  47. Ok, I'm ready! I weighed in today at 159.4. I would like to be 135 lbs. Goal date: April 30, 2012 So that is 25lbs to lose.
    My plan is: 1200 cal/day. Exercise every day. I have written out an exercise plan that includes:
    body pump (weight lifting) running, walking and zumba.

  49. I am ready to begin the challenge with you. I am weighing in at 200. Goal is to get back to 125. My goal date August 1, 2013.
    Plan is to eat 9800 calories a week with natural whole foods. Exercise will consist of cardio 30 minutes in the morning. Strength training for 45 minutes in the evenings 3 times weekly. Swimming the other 3 evenings for an hour.

  50. Hi everyone. My goal is to be down to a size 14 by March and size 12 by August Long term goal is 150. I lost 35 lbs on weight watchers and suzanne somers plan. On Suzanne Somers plan you cut out sugar flour alcohol carrots bananas and starchy veggies. You ate friut on an empty stomach and proteins and fats together and carbs seperate. I lost 17 lbs with it but couldn't keep it up. I wanted to have carbs with meat. How do you get your family on board?????

  52. I'd like to lose 20 pounds by the end of March. When I reach that goal I will try for another 20 pounds before my next physical in September. I'd be so very happy to visit my doctor and see his eyes when he sees a new person with a 40 pound drop. Then maybe he'd stay off my back about my weight for once. If I can eat more fruits and veggies and a lot less sweets and pick up my walking I know I can meet my goal. Today I walked and I bought cherry tomatoes in both red and yellow. They are washed and in a bowl in my kitchen so I can grab one of two whenever I go in there. Good luck everyone.

I keep gaining and losing same 20 lbs the minute i don't work out EVERY day I put it all back on.....so I am back to my treadmill and my beach body strength training Shape it Up I use fitness pal and find if I put everything down I think before I take extra bite plan to lose 2 lbs per week

  62. I have already lost about 40 lbs., but would like to see another 40 gone by June 1. Type II diabetes dx on 9/23/12, with a little more than the initial 40 in the last 2 months. I'm a teacher and coach, so life is crazy right now. Hope to get in 2 miles of walking 2-3/wk. Watching carbs, doing my version of WW.

  64. My goal is to lose 10lbs this month. I've been on my fitness pal for a couple of years now and I always give up so hopefully this will give me some motivation! I tend to lose inches faster than weight (which I'm not complaining about!) so I've found that if I workout a lot (insanity worked for me before) I get better results than if I starve myself trying to watch what I eat. Hopefully I can make myself start insanity again because I know it works for me. Thanks so much for doing this! I'm so excited :)

  65. Hi Robyn & Friends,

    My goal is to lose 40lbs by the end of June. I have high blood pressure which I control only with diet and exercise. I need to get serious with the weight loss. My Mom and I decided to take part in the challenge. Today we started with 10 mins on tread mill and 10 mins on the eliptical. We hope to do this atleast 5 times per week, and by week two hope to be doing atleast 15min on each piece of equipment. Thanks very much for organizing this group.

  66. Need to loose 50 lbs. Was successful back about 12 years ago on Atkins. Exercise is my downfall due to foot and knee pain. Want to joing Planet Fitness and get hooked up with a trainer to find exercise that will help limit my stress and provide me the energy you get off a great workout. Tomorrow the diary of what I eat begins, I plan to share with my DH who will gladly help me along the way. I have a Blackberry and many of the apps aren't available on it, any suggestions on good ones that are compatible? WE WILL DO THIS!

  68. I am in! Thanks Robyn for starting this. I must say that I was inspired by your last weight loss journey and really enjoyed the marathon video. I thought I would like to run a marathon but I really don't know if I would like to run for that long at one time. As I am getting older I know that if the weight does not come off the chances go up for trouble. I start at 190.8 and would like to be 140 to 135 by end of June. That means at least 2 lbs a week. I need to lose 24 by the first check in. I am on my fitness pal as thepolkadotscraper. I plan on posting to my blog also (www.thepolkadotscraper.blogspot.com). I would love to be friends with anyone on my fitness pal I guess we use email to request friends on there so here is mine thepolkadotscraper@gmail.com.   71. So excited you are doing this Robyn...I need some willpower to keep me going. Need to lose about 35-40 pounds for my long term goal so I can hopefully go off my medicine for high blood pressure. But would be thrilled to lose even 1-2 pounds each week through the first of April. Have had success on WW before but may try myfitnesspal first and see how I do on there before I fork out the money for WW again. Need to be more consistent with drinking water, some kind of exercise each day and stay away from sweets which are my downfall!!! Good luck everyone!!!

  72. I am going to my doctor tomorrow and will weigh in then. I want to make sure my scale and his are in sink. I want to lose 100 lbs. total. but want to concentrate on 10 pounds at a time. 2 to 3 pounds a week would be great! I am also going to use My fitness pal and try it out. I like Robin and others have used Weight Watchers in the past and may go back as well. I know they have a new program 360,but don't know what has changed. As for exercise I really can't do much walking or jumping for now. Dealing with knee issues and a tear to my Achilles tendon.But determined to get this weight off!!!

  73. I am in! My first goal is 17.5 pounds. I would ultimatly like to lose 30 to 40 pounds but that will be a long term goal. I would love to make some new healthy habits that will last so I think I need to go slow and change just one or two things at a time so that the changes are long term and not a "diet".

  76. I have about ten pounds I would like to lose. I had a baby 7 months ago and altho i tried to get back on weightwatchers 2 weeks after he was born i have failed miserably....so I would like to start new! I went for a hour long walk tonight and tomorrow my goal is to do the treadmill!

  77. Hi! I am currently at 178 lbs. I have been logging my calories into Fitness Pal for about a week now and have been walk/jogging for 20-30 everyday since last Thursday. That is a big accomplishment for me. My first goal is to weigh 168 by the end of January for my Birthday Disney Cruise with my husband. My overall goal is to be back to my pre-baby weight of 152. I would really like to be back to my wedding weight of 145 someday! My calorie count goal on Fitness Pal is 1200 calories a day! If you want to follow me on Fitness Pal, my username is jesyca34!

  81. My goal is to lose about 20 lbs by the end of May. I want to lose slowly. I plan to use shredmill (treadmill) on rainy days, jog/walk on sunny days, take zumba, aquazumba, and basic step at the Y. Also, I take strength training with a personal trainer.

    Eat less Crap
    CRAP
    C- Carbonated drinks
    R - Refined sugar
    A - Artifical sweetners
    P - Processed food

    Eat More Food:
    F - Fruits and Veggies
    O - Organic lean protein
    O - Omega 3 fatty acids (I plan to have salmon for dinner tonight)
    D - Drink water

  87. I weighed in for the first time in over a month at WW last night. I was 193.8 lbs. My ultimate goal would be to weigh 130 lbs. I think it would be realistic to lose 1-2 lbs per week. My first goal is to lose 5% of my starting weight at WW. I weighed 197.8 when I joined. So my 5% (rounded up) is 10 lbs.

Anyway, I am soon going to be 29 and I would like to reach my goal before I hit my thirties, just so I can face being 30 at my healthiest! I am 5'7" and currently at 188lbs. My goal is to be at about 145, which is ideal for my height and body type. My plan is to use myfitnesspal to track and monitor my eatting habits and I am also participating in an Ultimate Body Challenge at my local ATA starting January 13! I am very excited to meet my goals. I was at 220 after my baby was born 4 years ago and I lost 30+ lbs. I know I can make it the rest of the way! Let's do this!!

I currently weigh 173 - heaviest I've ever been even when I was pregnant - I would love to get to my goal weight of 140. I would love to lost 20 pounds over the next 3 months. I also suffer from hypothyroidism which has hindered my progress many times and ultimately became an excuse why I can't lose weight. I need to accept it and challenge it and try to live with this disease and hope that I can conquer it's negative effects on me. I have joined ww online and am loving the new apps for my iphone - the barcode scanner is awesome! I am looking forward to being successful on this journey with all of you!

    I currently weight 242 and would love to be under 200 for now. I suffer from Degenerative Disc disease in my lower back so most exercise is out the window. I can walk but limited on how far. I do have a Wii that I plan on using along with Wii Fit. I exercises on there are easy enough for me to do. The weight is hurting my back more and I need to get some of it off. I hope to get some motivation from here so I can succeed this time. I want to be at 230 by March and under 200 by the end of the year. My ultimate goal would be 160. I use to weight 300 so I have succeeded at getting some of it off.

  91. I had lost 15 lbs in the past year using My Fitness Pal. I am up 5 lbs since the Holidays. I would like to lose 15-20 additional lbs this year. I am back to tracking my meals again and plan to add more activities. Wish me luck.

  92. I am checking in at 440. I lost 60 pounds last year but then stopped doing Zumba and gained it all back and then some. My goal is just to be active and watch the calorie intake. Don't have a specific number goal right now although getting under 400 would be amazing! I'm using my fitness pal. Username is shyra7480 :-)

  93. OK, so my beginning weight is 194.4, (which is down 2 lbs prior to the holdidays). I am not sure what a realistic goal for April would be, however I am going to shot for 25 lbs. I am using my fitness pal with absolutely no clue on how to use it. Hopefully there's a youtube video out there to help. Good luck everyone

  95. Late to post, but I want to join too. My starting weight is 143.6 (or something, it's on my Wii and am too lazy to go make sure). Thankfully it's not my heaviest, but the holidays did just happen and I still have lots of sweets leftover from hosting Christmas at our house. I have two half marathons I'm officially signed up for, and hope to do another in October (mostly the Nike Women's half, but maybe another one the same month. We'll see...).

    Overall I'd like to lose 20 pounds, but realistically I'm shooting for 10 and seeing how I look/feel then go 5lb increments after that.

  96. My starting weight is 147 lbs with a goal weight of 125 lbs. - recommended fitness pal calories, 1200 daily. I have no problem with a healthy meal plan but I do have a sweet tooth and love to bake. My meals will consist of ground lean turkey breast, chicken breast, fish, green veggies, and a small portion of brown rice. I love to jog and cardio exercise.

I am going to try to go to the gym atleast three times a week. I really wish that i had a partner to go the the gym with but i am going to hope that my virtual partners will keep me going.

  99. Ok here goes, I'm finally admitting out loud how much I weigh. My starting weight is 212 lbs. For my first goal, I hope to lose 20 lbs by May. I plan to start out by walking 3-4x's a week.   100. I'm right along there with everyone else! I am 167 and would be happy at 145. My son was proposed to his girlfriend and they will be married in August! That leaves me a few months but I must start ASAP. Looks like I will consume approximately 1200 per day, and walk/exercise 30 minutes 5 days a week. I pray I can do this, so here's looking to a great NEw Year for all of us! Either will join WW because I know that works or Myfitnesspal.com, will decide today.
