Starting Over. Week 1, Day 1

Hi Everyone!

Here I go again!  I am completely starting almost over with Weight Watchers.  I am 15 pounds above my Lifetime weight of 125 pounds.  I got down a lot lower than that during my marathon training but realistically I am good for my height at 125.

I promised I would post some beginning pics again this time.  Not very flattering but I've just got to do it.    I will post pics every week after I weigh in.  Next Wednesday will be the beginning of week 2 for me.  I went today because I wanted to get started on the new WW program right away but I don't get weighed in again until next Wednesday.

Week 1:

Weight: 140.2 (YIKES!)

First goal:  130 (by CHA at the end of January)

Next goal:  125 (by Cricut Cruise at the end of February)

Thoughts:
I never thought that I would gain back some of the 50 pounds I lost but I did and if I'm not careful I am going to gain it all back.  It started when I got Plantar Fasciitis and had to stop running.  I know that I can do other exercises but it is totally mental with me.  I lost 50 pounds the year I was training for my marathon and in my mind that is what I relate to my weight loss.  I am going to try super hard to get it in my head that I CAN BE SUCCESSFUL with other exercising.  I also am a very emotional eater and I have been eating at night when I am having a hard time getting my 5 kids to sleep.  I need to find a solution to that eating, too.

Exercise:  None today but getting up bright and early in the am to meet a friend at the gym.

Please comment and share what you are doing on your journey.

  4. A great way to avoid the snacking - Brush your teeth! I keeps your teeth white and when you have fresh minty breath nothing tastes good!

    Good luck!

I am on a short goal of 10 pounds by Christmas. I have lost 40 pounds since last November and have been at a stand still for last 8 weeks.

  5. I have been so inspired by your journey, i've been following this blog since you started...in fact i've been so inspired i decided I'm going to run the SLC marathon in April, i know it's a long way away, but plenty of time to get there!!No offense but whenever I'm out running and start to doubt myself, I just think...if Robyn can do it so can I!!

  6. Go, Robyn! I made Lifetime in Sept. 2009 and am pushing higher each day. I was able to weigh in within my 2 pounds on Saturday--but I want to get back UNDER that goal weight!

Going tomorrow night to hear all the new information and excited to see your encouraging posts! :)

Getting in exercise is a real battle for me.

  7. Good luck! I know what you mean about kids not sleeping and eating. I've had plenty of 3 am brownies & milk in the past 2 years!! Running is my solution too...don't know what I'd do if I couldn't still run. Rooting for your success:o)

  9. Don't feel bad Robyn.....I have about 40 to lose. I joined Lifetime fitness a month ago...and have been doing a group training with a personal trainer...1 hour 3x a week........and we have our first weigh in on Wednesday...but my scale has not budged. FRUSTRATING. I haven't been a regular exerciser since my local Curves closed about 3 years ago.......I have a lot to lose. and will be very frustrated if Wednesday I find out I haven't lost anything after putting in 12+ hours of exercise!!!!

  16. Hi Robyn, I am a lifetimer trying to get back. I made goal in 1981, kept it off for 8 years and it slowly came back. Still trying to get back to goal, but its a lot harder now that I am older.

Good luck to you, the new program sounds fabulous. My meetings are on Monday mornings, it keeps me some what legal thru the weekend. This morning it was a packed house.

  17. So proud of you Robyn. I too am starting over today. I'm not doing WW but Thrive. I don't have to count points but you eat a low glycemic diet. It really works. I lost 25 pounds last year and I've set right here and gained back 20!!! I'm a stress eater too and my kids both have asthma. When they are sick, I eat to cope. Got to come up with something better. My husband got me a treadmill last week so with that and my eating plan I hope to join you on this journey. Thanks for all you do by inspiring us in everyday life as well as crafting.

  22. You can do it Robyn, we all can. It's taking the first step and staying on track the first week then I found it so much easier. I joined WW today so I can go to meetings and do it online. I did the meetings this time because i HAVE been at a plateau for 3 months doing the yo yo bit which isn't good. I had lost 34 lbs online but I am up 7 lbs now. YIKES gotta catch it before it goes any further.

  23. When I got married in 2003 I weighed 118, down 43 pounds from the previous year. I have gained 50 pounds since then. I will be starting over tomorrow. I will be 65 next year and I want to be as healthy as possible. I really want to loose about 40 pounds. My blood pressure is up enough for my do for to prescribe medication. I want to get off that if at all possible.

  24. You can do it! Right now I have 50 pounds to lose. I'm having a hard time and I'm def. an emotional eater. I lost 30 pds on ww in 2001 but my metabalism is MUCH slower now. lol! I tend to eat late at night, snacking. I need to stop this as well :-( Look forward to following you on your journey again :-) -Sam

  25. Thanks to you Robyn, that extra push I joined WW online today. I am drinking up the small amount of Bailey Irish Cream tonight to start fresh and new tomorrow. I lost 40 lbs 10 years ago with Atkins but gained it all back. I so want it gone for good. I want to do a 5K walk run in March and this along with the weight loss will help me get there. Together, all of us, we can do it!!

  26. DAy one for me on etools with the new plan, I weigh in at the meeting tomorrow. I did the 30 day shred (modified) as I have a bad knee. Good luck everyone. Fruit is free!

  27. We can do it. I have 40 lbs to lose! Eek, but I really need to do it. It definitely will be hard with the holidays, but I think if we just be good on the days that we can and do are best on the days that we can't we will make it!

  28. I would LOVE to learn about the new WW plan... I followed the old plan (my sister-in-law joined and I used her things!!) and lost 20 pounds. I was 146 when I started. My goal weight is also 125. I'm at about 135 now and need to get rid of the extra 10 pounds. I was never a runner (I hated it!) but I've started running. In January I hope to start training for a half marathon. I ran my first 5k in August and my first 8k in Sept. Running doesn't seem to help get the weight off for me though!

  29. I am so glad you are posting on this blog again. I am also working my way back to goal. I lost 49 lbs and kept it off for a good four years. This past year (year #5) I gained 7lbs of it back. After maintaining for so long this gain has really bothered me. It has also been hard for me to lose. Some weekes I am up a few more pounds and some I am down -- but never back to goal. It is my hope and goal to be back at & stay at that magic number by the end of February. Weight Watchers changing the program is just what I think I need to get motivated. I wish everyone reading your blog MUCH success! We can all do it!!!-disneygirl in Tucson, AZ

  31. Go Robyn!! You're inspiring me...if you can do it with 5 kids, I can't use my 2 as excuses not to exercise anymore. I'll be following along for motivation. I'm following the 400 calorie diet (limit meals to under 400 calories, 4x a day), I can't stick to journalling and meetings aren't my thing. I need to lose 25 lbs.

  32. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new WW program. I'm a lifetime member as well but am currently on 'pregnancy hold'...but I had a miscarriage. I keep wondering if I should go back as I haven't made WW work for me after the births of my last two. Anywho. You're not the only one who turns to eating when the kids go to bed...just sayin'. ;)

  33. You can do it again Robyn. After Autumn is done nursing I am going to start my diet and I need to get back in shape so bad!!

  34. Good luck Robyn! I've been doing WW pretty much on my own for the past 4 years...my top weight was 150 in April of 2006...that was my breaking point. I managed to lose and get down to 121 but then my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer and I was her caregiver and the weight started to creep back up...I've been hovering at 129-130 now for probably a year...would really like to get down to 125. It's a never ending battle!!

  38. I am in the same boat as you my friend. I also did WW and lost 45lbs.. in 2.5 years I have gained 14lbs... CRAP!! so I am going to do this with you! I know it works, because I have done it once before.. Let's go girl!!

  39. Robyn - I lost and gained back 30 pounds TWICE and last feb 11 I rejoined WW for the 3rd time and so far lost 30.6 pounds and this time I really believe I'm going to keep it off. I no longer think "when I'm done I can slow down on my workouts or eat a little more" now I KNOW that there is no such thing as DONE. When you get to your goal it's the hardest part because people tell you how great you look and you feel really good and things start to slip. Good luck it's tough to get back on track when you have been off for a while. You did it once you can do it again.

I see on your videos you love to dance so I have a fun workout suggestion for you. Go to beachbody.com and look up Turbo Fire or Turbo Jam it's a fun dancy kick boxing workout that I've used both times to lose my weight. Give it a try you will love it and you'll see results fast. If you order it let me know what you think. Lisa

  42. Ok, Robyn, count me in!! I am going to do this with you. My goal is to lose 50 pounds by next year. That is about 1 pound a week, right? You have inspired me to craft with you, start a blog with you, and now I'm gonna get healthy with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all of your inspiration.

    With humble gratitude,

  43. You can do it Robyn. I've followed along with you from the beginning of your weight loss journey and I am very proud of all that you have accomplished. I too struggle with my weight, but my big thing is I don't eat all day and then eat too much at dinner. So my plan starting yesterday is to drop 50 lbs by my birthday in March.
I wish you good luck on losing those few pounds you put back on.

  45. Hi Robyn
First let me just say that your a very strong and motivated person. You can do anything you set your mind to. well
Well let me just tell you that we have decided to join you in your weight loss mission. its 12:33am on the east coast and we my husband and I just finished watching the biggest loser. both my husband and I have been inspired to lose some weight. We would like to go to back to our weight when we first met. I have really bad eating habbits and I dont know how easy this is going to be. He just left to walmart to go get the biggest loser excercise game for the xbox. I hope we stay this motivated and really accomplish this. We will keep you up to date.

    Good Luck to all!

  46. THANK YOU!! for starting to post. Your post along with others is my motivation....I WILL lose the weight!

  47. Hey Robyn! I had no idea that you too struggled with weight. I read your post on pink stamper and had to hurry over to check you out. I have been heavy since a year after being married which is now 13 years. I had every excuse like after I had my boys. I have 4 boys and you are an inspiration to me to get off my butt and loose the other 25lbs. that I need to. In the summer 2009 I did loose 32lbs and gained 9lbs back. What a let down.

I do believe that God has provided you a wonderful family to support you and a ton of cyber friends as well. What a blessing to be a stay at home mom to 5 kids, a wife, a career that you love, and to be a daughter of the Almighty. You can and will loose this weight if you set your mind to it!

    Go for it!
    Whitney

  48. Congrats on the start of something good. What do you think of the new WW program compared to the old points?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I was so happily surprised when I clicked here and find that you are back in the WW game.
I am also struggling ( the reason I was out here searching in the first place) it took me 6 months to loose 11 pounds, not WW just counting cals 1200 per day. But in the last 3 months I have gained 6 of them back ! So I am also trying to get my head and body back in the game. Thinking about trying WW again....not sure about this new program yet.I have been lifetimer for years.
Thanks for sharing, you never know when someone is out here struggling right along with you.
