Quick Update

Hi everyone!!!

Okay here is what I have been able to accomplish this week with running.

Monday - ran 4 miles

Wednesday - ran 5 miles

Thursday - ran 2 miles

The counting points has not been going well for me. I will be honest. I do GREAT for the first half of the day and then get sooo hungry at night that I just throw it all out the window. I am not giving up or giving in. I just need to try harder. Plus, I am an emotional eater and we have been having some challenges with some of our children lately. I just go in my office and have stuff I shouldn't be eating.

What am I going to do about all of this??? Well, my husband and I have decided that we are going to run our next marathon in April in Louisville, Kentucky. If you live near there and would like to come and cheer us on we would love that!!! My training starts officially on Monday with a long run the following Saturday. My back is still sore but much better. Hopefully the running won't make it worse. After I ran 5 miles this week my back felt great by that night.

I went to weight watchers this week to weigh in and I was at 129.2. My lifetime goal is 125 so I was not lifetime this week. I will work on that for next week.

So, for today I have had 1 FiberOne Chocolate bar for 2 points. I am going to drink a lot of water. Have a big salad with a sandwich for lunch. Fruit & veggies for snacks, and a dinner of a frozen meal. I can do this!!!

My point goal for each day before working out is 20 points. The more I run, the more points I get.

  3. I am so with you! I don't count points, I do my daily plate and count calories... I am doing a biggest loser challenge with my gym and the prize is a beach vacation! After 4 kids (one is adopted, but still gained weight through the process!) I am tired of being 5'2" and 160lbs... I am on week 5, have lost 6 lbs and work out 4 times a week... I am not staying at this weight! I am keeping up with everything at amomwithmanynames.blogspot.com I would love for you to visit! I also have a blog of our russian adoption (which only took 7 months, which is why i gained weight!) anotherlittleblessing.blogspot.com
    Love your blogs! Thanks!

  4. I know the feeling.. when things go on in my house I do one of 2 things.. I either eat or I don't eat.. For some reason, I will eat anything I can get my hands on..which is not good.. I did ww a couple years back on lost all my weight, then it came back on me.. just like you.. but got the flu for a week.. and lost a lot of weight.. and that is when I said.. ok.. I am not going to gain it back.. I want to keep it off.. I love the new healthy choice meals, that you steam in the micro and they have pts too! their are something different and I think there really good.. Makes it not feel like a diet.. U can do it, when the stuff upsets u, pick up a bottle of water or some popcorn...=)

  5. oh Robyn..i know you can do it. its so hard to stay on track. Keep it up and when you're feeling down remember you're doing this to be healthy for yourself, to have energy for your children and to look sexy for your hubby. :)

  6. I think you are doing great! It's hard to stay on track but you have to "not giving up" attitude. I actually live in Louisville! :) You have been such an inspiration to me with both your blogs. Good luck in the marathon! Is it the one they are doing for the Kentucky Derby Festival?

  7. Congrats on getting back on track, and you know you can do it!! I have faith in you!! I started back on weight watchers myself on Wednesday and have a friend locally that's been helping me with suggestions for substitutes and something I've found (and I'm sure you already know about, but JUST in case!...) I use to loose a lot of points to cokes, but now I'm drinking the Coke Zero which has 0 points. Some others are Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Sprite. I just thought this might help. And my friend told me that protein bars help to keep you satisfied and the fiber bars actually kick your metabolism into gear so it actually makes you more hungry. Good luck girl! I'm rootin for ya!

  8. Good job Robyn, I haven't worked out in 3 months & I really need to get my hiney in gear again! I have managed to keep off the 40 lbs but I still have 10 more to go! I don't have a treadmill, I have a bike & I am going to start riding it again on Monday as well as my little 10 minute workouts videos that I was doing that actually helped alot! Thanks for the inspiration! Maybe one day I will do a Marathon:)

  9. You are doing GREAT! I also have 5 kids, but mine are all grown and out of the house except the the last one...he is 15. I am also an emotional eater, and when things get stressful and emotional it is difficult to stay on track...and children can definetly be stressful! Just remember, the difficult times will pass and you need to take care of yourself so you are able to take care of your family! I wish I lived a little closer, I would come to cheer you on!

  14. Hi Robin

I need to lose about 20 to 25lbs. I had many back surgeries over the past 10 years and weight more now than when I gave birth.

I have trouble losing because of all my fusions, etc...to back shoulders and hip, it is so hard to exercise. In fact the doctors says I am doing harm to my joints walking, lol. well its not funny, but what am I to do if I can not exercise.

What type of meals are you guys buying. My problem is because of not feeling good, I tend to gave finger food. I need simple real quick meals for me to try out.

Anyone got any suggestions on what taste good that I can microwave, etc.....that would help me watch and lose my weight.

Thanks for sharing your goals with us. Good luck on your marathons

Please anyone email me with the advice on what microwave meals taste good, so I do not lose my money. I am disabled and do not have money to lose.

  15. Hi Chris,

I love the microwave meals. Anything from Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, or Weight Watchers is great. I only get the ones that are under 290 calories, though.

  17. I have a similair problem with my hunger at night. So my WW leader recommended that Istart countng my ponts at night, from 6p-6p. This has helped me so much, and helped me to stay in control. The funny thing is I am actually within points or lower, when I look back at my days. Keep up the good work! - Judianne
