I am just about to go to bed after finishing Day 5 of Week 1! I am so proud of myself. It has been a looooong time since I've been committed to watching what I eat and working out regularly. Tonight I passed up..... ice cream & caramel popcorn BUT I did go out to lunch with my husband and that was GREAT! I ordered water (before it was always a Sprite) and I ordered Terriyaki chicken with steamed broccoli. Super yummy and I felt good about not giving in to my temptation of always getting unhealthy food at restaurants.
This morning I played 2 hours of tennis but didn't break much of a sweat so I only gave myself about 2-3 points for that. After I went to the gym and walked for a half an hour and burned about 350 calories because I walked at an incline keeping an eye on my heart rate to make sure I stayed in the fat burning zone.
Yep, you are reading that right. I only walked for 1.21 miles but I burned 357 calories!! LOVE walking at an incline. Plus, my Plantar doesn't seem to act up as bad as when I run. Don't get me wrong, I will still run just not as much as before.
I'm going to be a little bit hungry but that is okay. I know that my body is adjusting to eating the calories that I should be eating. My husband and I were chatting after we went to lunch and I told him how usually I am STUFFED after we ate out but this time I felt satisfied. It's actually a really good feeling. :)
Hope you all have a GREAT weekend! Wish me luck! The weekends are the hardest for me, especially Sundays because I don't workout on that day so I don't earn extra points.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYou did so well this week, Robyn! And good job on the eating. I ate pretty well this week except for tonight. Pizza is my weakness, but I have it way less often now. And the less you have it, the better it tastes! Tomorrow I go for a 25 mile bike ride with my tri training group. Lovin' your pink loser blog, and may have to start up something like this myself - even if I'm the only reader, LOL! It's such great therapy to write. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteWell done Robyn! I'm going to try and do this with you! Yesterday I did 20 mins on the cross trainer and 20 mins on the treadmill (walking at an incline of 3, great tip!!). I also did 30 mins of weights, just working on my abs and upper body. We went out for dinner last night and I just got a lean steak and some vegetables! I really wanted icecream afterwards but I didn't have any. I too need to work on my portion sizes!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Great Job Robyn!! I'm in my 3rd week of maintenance. I gained 2 lbs. last week!! Now I'm exactly at my goal (I was under) Maintenance is hard, it gives you a false sense of security.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work. Thanks for letting us share your experience.
Great job Robyn!! I had a rough week, but am ready to buckle down. Hearing how well you are doing is very inspiring. I hope that I can find the discipline not to poorly especially on the weekends. Good luck today, you can do it.
ReplyDeleteI am with you, weighing in at 148, I still have 23 pounds to go. been very bad for the past 2 months. I have to kick it up. My goal was to drop a full 50 pounds by the day I turn 50, But I had decided to add 10 more pound to my final weight loss. So 23 pound left to go.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are always motivating. I have been being healthy for about 3 months and I have reached a very critical time in my journey...the time that I need to push through and not quit. Knowing that you are working hard too reminds me that everyone struggles at least a bit with food, especially on the weekends or on holidays. Let' keep it up. =)
ReplyDeleteRobyn, One tip I learned at a Weight Watchers meeting was that we eat the same volume of food every day. Keeping that in mind I started swapping a side salad for my baked chips at lunch. On the old WW plan I had plenty of points to eat those chips with my lunch but not on the new plan. My leader also told us that fruit is not zero points for everyone. Well I was one of those - it is not free for me. The combination of both of these things has helped me loose. I had been at goal for a long time and let 10 pounds creep back on. After months of frustration I am finally down 7 of the 10. It was only when I did the above two things that I started to see the scale budge. You may already know this but I wanted to post it in case your scale stalls! LOL! Sometimes it is such the obvious things and we don't realize it. Good luck on your journey - don't give up!-disneygirl in AZ
ReplyDeleteHey Robyn! Glad to hear you are keeping with it! The first week is the hardest part! I am not sure if you know, but WW has an app that is available for the iPhone - not sure what the fee is? But I really enjoyed using it!
