Hello Everyone!
Wow! I have missed this blog but I definitely need it now. Today I am making a commitment to get healthy. I know it's weird starting on Halloween with all the other holidays coming up but that doesn't mean I cannot enjoy them, I just need to have moderation. So here we go.... starting completely over!
Week 1
Weight - 148.8 (Can you believe I was at 117 after I ran the marathon 2 years ago?)
Today's Exercise
Singles tennis with friend for 1 1/2 hours. I ALMOST beat her!!! We were running all over the court.
I am doing the Weight Watchers plan still so I have 29 points plus extra for tennis.
Here is a picture from this week. I will try to post a new one every week. I usually gain the weight in my middle and in my face.
Leave a comment here if you are doing it with me!!! Good luck everyone. We can do this! Get up and get moving!

Hey Robyn! Oh, you know I'm already working on this. My highest weight was about 205 a year ago (eeek!), but I'm now down to 172. Getting there! I also gain in my middle and face, but fortunately, that's also where it comes off first. Best of luck to you. You already look fantastic, and I know you're going to do great!
ReplyDeleteHi Monique!!! Thank you so much! I just keep see my weight creeping back up. It would be a shame to gain it all back after all the hard work I put into it. I just need a desire, motivation, and a support group!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Robyn
I have been trying since the beginning of Sept. down 14 but about 25 more to go. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteYou can do this!!!! Any advice for a first time marathoner???
ReplyDeleteHey Robyn! I started doing WW the day after Christmas. I have lost 95 lbs so far and STILL have 90 more or so to go. Good luck to you. You can do it :)
ReplyDeleteI started today as well. I met with an instructor last week and we started. Best to both of us!
ReplyDeleteI joined WW 4 weeks ago with a dear friend. She was killed by a drunk driver the very next day.. I am continuing with her in spirit.. down 11 pounds in 4 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI just joined the gym today Robin! I am so ready to get started on my journey!
ReplyDeleteIt's always so much hard to relose the weight than it is the first time. For some reason our determination shifts in a crazy fashion. I know that you will do weill and lose what you set out to. Love of love and support coming your way. hugs, eileen
ReplyDeleteHey Robyn, I joined WW Online July 22, 2011 and since then have lost 22.1 lbs and still have about 60 lbs to lose! It's slowly coming off but I'm still motivated!
ReplyDeleteoh Robin I am you times 3. I have gained and lost over 50 pounds 3 times with weight watchers after each one of my kids. the last time was a yr and a half ago. everytime i got to where i felt great and thought i was "done". this last time I finally realized that I will never be "done" and everyday I make sure I just put on my shoes and get my butt to the gym. i dont always make the right choices but most of the time I remember how great I feel in my "cute" jeans and how crappy I felt in the "big" jeans. Its gonna suck doing it again but just do it no matter how ticked off you are at yourself for gaining it back. you will feel great again, you know that. you did it once you will do it again. wtg today is the first day and every day you will feel better.

I lost 24 lbs this past summer 24 to go an I will be happy {sort of} My goal is to start running in races again and I would eventually love to be able to run at least a 1/2 marathon.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have lost the motivation I had this summer gotta get that back!
Way to go, I too have been doing WW and since my daughter was born two years ago have lost 20+ lbs!!! Wishing you luck!!
ReplyDeleteI will be joining again as well. Wish it was easy to get the much needed motivation.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to everyone

You go Girl!!!! It takes a lot of nerve to put yourself out there for the world to see. I will join you in this battle and believe me I have lots more to go.
ReplyDeleteP.S. FYI It is the time in the Wiccan world to shut the door on the past and get rid of the "stuff" no longer need or want and set new goals. It's the best time to start!
Hi Robyn! Usually don't post about topics like this, but am 53 years old and have turned into a rectangle! I have been doing WW all year and am down 14 pounds..20 more to go but feeling so much better to even be 14 less than last year! Keep your eye on the goal..I'm a St. Louis gal and if our boys could keep their focus on the World Series goal and win, than so can I!!
ReplyDeletejust ran my first 10K yesterday and very proud of it you look awesome, trying to eventually do a half marathon have lost 25 pounds already but the darn thyroid keeps acting up. Take it slow and enjoy it!! you do it with style!!

Wow! All these great stories of encouragement! I will try to be better. There is never the best day to begin so I may as well start right now, at this very minute! If I am brave enough, I may post my weight but for right now, it is day one!
ReplyDeleteRobyn I read a statistic that says 90% of the people who lose weight gain it back. If it doesn't become our new lifestyle it is hard to keep it off. I started The 17 Day Diet 9/8/11 and have lost almost 20 pounds. I am on the 3rd cycle currently and plan to repeat all three at least one more time, perhaps two more if it takes that long. I had to beef up my exercise to at least 30-45 minutes a day & did not start to see any real results until I started jogging. I had almost 70 pounds to lose at the beginning. My genetics say that I will have diabetes before I die and I am willing to do what it takes to make that less and less of a reality. I have tried WW over the years & it just hasn't worked for me. Looking forward to losing with you and others on the journey to a healthier us.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to all of you. I'm not ready mentally for this challenge. My life is a little stressful and I know everyone can say that, but my life is literally upside down. I am trying not to eat for comfort, so that's how I'm starting and drinking plenty of water while monitoring my salt. You go girls!
ReplyDeleteGo For It Robyn! You can do it. I'll be jumping on this band wagon too. I seriously need to do something more, something better. One day at a time. Smooches... Felicia
ReplyDeleteGo girl GO! I am trying to be more active too!
ReplyDeletei want to get down to 125 i want to see my grandkids grown up and go to see them play football and cheer.good luck to all
ReplyDeleteOk Robyn I'm gonna try to keep up with you. Let's see how this goes I'm focused though. Good luck!

I just started Weight Watchers for the first time on October 19! I've had one weigh in and I cant wait until my next tomorrow! I've been working hard! Thanks for keeping this blog!
ReplyDeleteJoining you, love WW but can't afford it, so will work on my own tracking. Day 1 = 185lbs, now with health issues running a marathon is out but hoping the new Dr will help me with a manageable exercise appt Nov 8. thanks for the inspiration (BTW have lost 10lbs in the last 4 months :)
ReplyDeleteYay! So glad to have the "loser" back! :) I'm in my 9th week of Weight Watchers and will weigh in again tonight. As of last week I was down 8.2 pounds. I'm an insulin dependant diabetic, so it's hard to lose weight, but I am loving the WW plan! So glad you're back! ~FancyGantz
ReplyDeleteRobyn, as we get a little older we tend to gain the weight in the middle. I have never been one for diets, etc, but, I have found that changing my eating habits and food choice is what makes a BIG difference. It's hard to believe how GREAT Spinach is for us, if you put it in a Smoothie you can't taste it. Great way to get kids to eat it. Getting down when to eat Proteins, whole grains, etc, how often to eat, etc that's when you will see the weight drop off. It's a lifestyle change. NO, I am not a grain eating vegetarian or anything, I like a good Burger now and then. My dh studied nutrition in college (at UofL) and cringes when I mention Weight losing ideas. While we need to excercise more, we eat better and feel better. FYI...I am not a professional, just like to eat.
ReplyDeleteGood Health in your venture.
Take care!

I wish I could do this with you, but I'm pregnant. When it's mine turn to lose weight, you'll be a skinny minny. I hope that you have the best of luck, and enjoy the journey. Just so you know you...I think you look cute in your picture. So I'm guessing everyone around you thinks you look cute, you just remember the smaller you and like it better. Isn't that always the case. Also, I know that prefer running, but have you checked out classes at a gym like BodyPump and Zumba. My other tip is to try the stair master. The one where the stairs move. It gives you the cardio of running without the impact. Best of luck:).
ReplyDeleteHey, Robyn! I am so happy to see this blog up and going! I was on WW for about 10 months and took off 18 lbs. I left WW because life just got too busy, and I wasn't following the plan. Since leaving, I have gained almost all of it back. :-( So I am with you on this!! We are done having kids (my initial weight gain), so there are no excuses now. Thanks for sharing your journey with those of us who are about to step up again to fight the bulge!!
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn,
ReplyDeleteI have been being healthy since August 8th, with one free day a month. My free day was Halloween, and so November 1st, I had gained 6 lbs in 1 day!!! It was disheartening, but I have pushed through and am so glad you are doing this too right at the same time. We can totally get through the holidays. Thanks for your impeccable timing!
Congrats for making the first step, again. Do you do the meetings, or can you actually stick with something for so long on your own.
